Companies worldwide are facing financial losses as a result of climate change – with an increased focus on planning for and reporting the risk. The risk-return profile of companies exposed to weather volatility is substantial, The Economist Intelligence Unit estimates that nearly US $43 trillion of manageable assets may be at risk globally by the end of the century.

Sharing the climate-related financial information is going mainstream. This ensures appropriate controls over the reporting of climate risk data, and the “rewiring” of contracts across national and international jurisdictions.

Future governance and disclosure arrangements will mirror those for public financial disclosures, and likely involve detailed reviews by chief financial officers, audit committee, or the board.

The Thomson Reuters’ workshop on Climate Change and Risk Reporting Workshop unpacks the legalities around future risk reporting and disclosure. This hands-on workshop is led by a leading climate change, governance, and risk reporting expert, Phoebe Roberts, Senior Associate, MinterEllison.

Join us for a deeper understanding of the climate change risk reporting arrangements, across national and international jurisdictions. This is your chance to better understand the financial risks associated with climate change, and corporate obligations.
