Description

Personal Injury Law Manual Queensland provides a comprehensive and practical guide to the principal areas of personal injury law in Queensland. It contains explanatory commentary on the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994, Personal Injury Proceedings Act 2002 and the Civil Liability Act 2003, all of which are reproduced in full text. The service covers each of the principal areas of personal injury law and also includes chapters on court procedure and taxation. There is also a comprehensive section on medicine in personal injury cases, which includes an extensive glossary of medical terms. The service includes in full the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (Cth) and extracts of the WorkCover Queensland Act 1996, the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 as well as other relevant legislation.

The authors are experienced practitioners in the personal injury field.

Andrew Stobie is a barrister currently practising at the Queensland Bar, specialising in all aspects of personal injury law.

Lisa Blumke has practised as a solicitor, Partner and Special Counsel in various Brisbane law firms, with experience acting on behalf of plaintiffs in personal injuries claims (work-related, public liability and motor vehicle accident claims), but mostly for insurers and employers. Over her 20 year legal career Lisa conducted numerous trials, appeals, settlement conferences, mediations and case appraisals.

Anna Hendry, Partner, HopgoodGanim, advises exclusively in insurance litigation, acting on behalf of major public liability insurers, workers compensation insurers and self-insurers, compulsory third party insurers and professional indemnity insurers.
