Stephen Odgers SC is a prominent NSW barrister in the area of criminal law and legal academic. He is the author of the Thomson Reuters online and looseleaf subscription, Uniform Evidence Law, and co-editor of the Criminal Law Journal, the Principles of Federal Criminal Law, eleven previous editions of the Uniform Evidence Law book and related title, Uniform Evidence Law in Victoria. He is also author of the Federal Offences subscription, a contributor to The Laws of Australia subscription, a General Editor of the Criminal Law Journal, a co-author of Australian Criminal Justice, 2e (OUP), and author of Sentence (Longueville Books).

He has been the Chair of the Criminal Law Committee of the New South Wales Bar Association since 2004 and is a high profile commentator, often cited in the media, offering his opinions on issues relating to crime and justice.

He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney, Faculty of Law.
